The Challenge
- Himalayas have remotely located villages that are largely scattered, agrarian & lack accessibility.
- Tough, Undulating & rugged terrain along with inclement weather conditions make communication difficult.
- This has led to isolation of Himalayan communities which increases their vulnerability to climate change.

Beneficiaries
- HARC KISSAN APP would gradually provide benefit to approximately 3-4 crore people inhabiting the eleven mountain states of India namely, Jammu & Kashmir; Himachal Pradesh; Uttarakhand; Sikkim; Arunachal Pradesh; Assam; Parts of West-Bengal, Meghalaya; Nagaland; Manipur; Mizoram & Tripura.
- “HARC KISSAN APP” is available on Google play store & has universal availability.
- The Application will play a pivotal role in enhancing the economic status of the masses apart from making them resilient to climate change.
- It will go a long way in addressing grievances of farmers apart from providing timely knowledge & information for informed decisions thereby reducing losses.
- It will contribute towards securing food, lives & livelihoods of mountain & hill communities by empowering them economically.

- Facilitation of marketing linkages of produce by provisions for real-time information such as prevailing rates in local mandis; details of vendors etc. to minimize exploitation by middlemen.
- It would be a repository of information on various government schemes meant for agro-horticulture sector.
