2003 – 2006
  • Focused approach on promoting agribusiness through community-based institutions and federations.
  • Socio-economic development model of collective approach through women farmers cooperative and men farmers association started flourishing.
  • Freeing farmers from clutches of middlemen was one of the major achievements.
  • Women started getting recognition and social acceptance in trading activity.

2007 - 2014
  • Facilitated strengthening of self-help groups, Farmer’s Interest Groups, Women Cooperative, men farmer’s Association etc.
  • Introduced development communication through digital services as core methodology to intensify knowledge among marginal farmers.
  • Focused on quality checks like sorting, grading, packing and labeling.
  • A common facility centre (CFC) for value addition (processing and drying), quality control and reduction of wastage established.
  • Tissue culture lab established at HARC Naugaon centre to provide disease free seeds and plants to farmers.
  • Focused on establishing backward and forward market networks for marginal farmers.
  • Started tapping market for high value chain products to enhance income of farmers.
  • Expanding horizon to work with Government of Meghalaya in promoting livelihood opportunities.
  • Working to promote development communication – a digitally inclusive tool as catalyst to assist in adapting to climate fluctuations.

  • Promoting Development Communication as a catalyst to adapt to climate fluctuations by using information technology mediums like SMS, online interaction with subject matter specialists through upcoming HARC farmers’ Call Centre (HFCC), etc
  • Strengthening Climate Smart Agriculture system to mitigate risk by using technical modes such as subject matter specialist assistance, introduction of climate sturdy crops/high value crops, dissemination of best package of practices and FAQs to rectify on farm problems.
