An extensive study on geo-spatial hazard analysis was conducted by experts at Naugaon watershed. The study will provide significant insights in the geomorphologic, topographic & edaphic constitution of the area that would go a long way in designing & implementation of real-time, region based solutions to mitigate risks posed by #climatechange in #Himalayas.
HARC is constantly endeavored to mitigate the adverse affects of #ClimateChange on livelihoods of #Himalayan communities inhabiting Naugaon watershed region. To provide real time customized agro-horticultural solutions, soil samples were collected from Apple Orchards & tested for availability of nutrients required for optimum growth & yield at in-house soil testing facility available at Himalayan Action Research Centre - HARC campus, Naugaon. Grafting of Apple trees was also done with low-chilling varieties like Scarlet Spur to address constantly decreasing yields & altitudinal shift of apple belt due to warming climate Partners for Resilience India.
